A trip to a North Sea Island - Norderney 2006
We started our trip on Monday. We met at the station. We took a regional train to Münster and from there an Intercity to the sea. A ferry took us to Norderney. We went by bus to the youth hotel. First we went into our rooms. The rooms were small and there were 4-5 bunk beds. We made the beds. The teacher helped to make the beds. The dinner was good. After dinner we went to the beach. At 10 o'clock we had to go sleeping. It was quiet at midnight. The next morning we woke up at 7o'clock. Breakfast was at 8 o'clock. We had a wonderful breakfast. There was everything you could think of. Then at 10 o'clock we went to the beach. Some of the kids went swimming. The waves were high and the water was cold - only 17° degrees. In the afternoon we visited the lighthouse. There were 252 steps up to the light. For some kids it was too high.
Then we went back to the youth hostel. After dinner we went to town for a drink. It was a long way and it started to rain. The cafe in town was still open and all the kids got a drink. We walked home along the coast. After that all the boys and girls were tired. Then they started to dream about sea monsters!
Wednesday
After breakfast we hired some bikes. We cycled to the city. We bought souvenirs. We ate ice-cream. We drank a coke. Some of the children even bought cigarettes. The teachers were shocked. But the cigarettes weren't real. So everything was fine. We cycled to the beach and went swimming, later we played Mini Golf. Then it was time for a meal. We went to the beach and played games.
Thursday
In the morning we had a nice breakfast. After the breakfast we went to the beach. We played different ball games and we went back to the youth hostel. In the afternoon we had a guided tour in sea, because the tide was out. The ground was wet and soft, but it was warm from the sun.
The guide showed us different animals. He took a big fat worm and he really ate it. All the children laughed. Some children sank into the wet mud. Later some kids and Mr. Meese pulled them out.
After dinner there were ball games and some pupils went to a cafe near beach.
Friday
The next morning we packed our suit-cases and had to travel home. The sea was rough and there were really high waves.
We arrived in Dortmund at half past five. It was a good trip. Our parents were waiting at the station.
